Tanana Valley State Fair

In Fairbanks, Alaska, the highlight of everyone's summer is the Tanana Valley Fair. One of the more popular booths is the Alaska Earthquake Information Center's "Make-A-Quake" booth featuring the Earthquake Machine. Complete with a working seismometer and personal computer for viewing real-time waveforms, kids of all ages jump at the chance to make their own earthquake.
